Melody began volunteering with Habitat 4 Paws in 2024 after adopting an adult cat, Linus. She was immediately drawn H4P’s volunteers, their adopting and fostering process, and how well the network of fosters knows the pets. Linus needed a playful friend, so the family added a Dachshund puppy, Snickers, to the family and the two get their zoomies out together every dusk and dawn.

Melody remembers volunteering at shelters her whole life in her home state of Wisconsin. As a child, her mother would take her there to play with the adoptable cats which led to her taking her own daughter there to help entertain animals waiting for their forever homes. Melody and her youngest daughter enjoy attending pet adoption events with H4P and helping wherever they can.

Professionally, Melody has a BA in accounting and an MBA and has worked in government accounting full time for nearly 20 years.
